VBC Club Competitions

The club organises a number of competitions each year, some with entry restricted to active club members, some open to non-members. Winners and runners-up from past seasons are recorded on the Club Honour Board.

To celebrate the opening of the club in autumn, 2009, we staged an Inauguration Pairs competition. This took the form of a one-day Pairs tournament, open to all, for a trophy and cash prizes. This event will be repeated each autumn as the Valverde Anniversary Pairs competition.

A similar format is used for the Valverde VBC Spring Pairs competition, first staged in 2010, and repeated each spring. This event is also open to all.

The Valverde President's Shield, a Singles tournament open to club members only, was first staged in January 2010, and is repeated each season.

Each season the club also stages Club Championships, for members only - Ladies and Mens Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours. 2011/12 Championships records the draw and the status of each competition.

Over Jan/Feb/Mar 2012, the Friday club roll-ups will be 'spiced-up' by the incorporation of a ladder. Scores for the matches will be recorded and
shot difference accumulated for each player over a period of ten weeks, resulting in a winner. Ladder records the latest state-of-play in this competition.

Over the summer months in 2011, the club staged an "Australian Pairs" competition, for members only. See
