Membership

There are three categories of membership:

• Full Membership - which may be purchased for a (contiguous) period of 12, 6 or 3 months, starting on any date
• Pay-as-you-play (PAYP) Membership - which may be purchased for a (contiguous) period of 12 months, starting on any date
• Junior Membership - Individuals of age less than 16 years may take up an annual membership for a fee of only 25% of the normal fee.

• - pay no green fees for use of the club green;
• - are given preference when club teams are selected for league and other competitive matches
• - may be offered a discounted entry fee for club competitions
• - are entitled to submit resolutions to, and to vote at, club General Meetings
• - may stand for election to any club office
• - can receive discounts on insurance through David Hills, Almancil

• - pay a reduced green fee for use of the club green;
• - may attend, but not vote at, club General Meetings
• - can receive discounts on insurance through David Hills, Almancil

• - pay no green fee for use of the club green;
• - may attend, but not vote at, club General Meetings

Membership Fees

Note 1: Spouse Membership The legal partner of a Member (of any category) is entitled to a 25% discount on membership of the same (or lower) value.

Note 2: Founder Members of the club are entitled to a discount on membership fees (see Founder Membership for details.)

Note 3: All membership categories are subject to an approval process; new applicants are required to complete an application form which must be countersigned by two existing members, and is then displayed on the club noticeboard/website for two weeks. Providing no existing club member has raised an objection, the club committee will then approve the application. The successful applicant will be informed, and once the appropriate membership fee has been paid to the club treasurer, the membership is in effect and a club membership card will be issued.

Note 4: Membership renewals, if taken up within 3 months of an expired membership, are not subject to any approval process. Beyond three months of expiry of a membership, renewal will be treated as a new application.

Green Fees

Full Members pay no green fees.

PAYP Members pay €6 for each use of the green - but this fee is waived for PAYP Members selected to play against visiting touring teams, and also for home games in the Bowls Portugal Championships.

Current members of another Bowls Portugal member club pay €7 (due to a reciprocal arrangement with the other BP clubs).

Non members pay €10 for each use of the green. A non-member may purchase a set of pre-paid green-fee vouchers - each voucher entitling purchaser (or spouse) to one use of the green. A set of twenty vouchers costs €160, with the vouchers valid for a period of six months from date of purchase.
